Nik Aziz to meet Hadi on Selangor MB issue

(The Rakyat Post) – Pas spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat will convene a meeting with party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang to obtain an explanation in relation to the party’s decision made today on the Selangor political crisis.

The former Kelantan Menteri Besar said he would release a statement after the meeting, expected to take place at his office Tok Guru Thought Institute in Kota Darulnaim tomorrow.

“I cannot comment on the matter until I receive all the facts on the matter from the PAS president.

“I have to listen to his explanation on the rationale for the decision,” he told newsmen at his home in Kampung Pulau Melaka here today.

PAS today took a stand, which raised confusion among many, when the party’s leadership announced that it would not be backing Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Aside from this, the PAS central leadership, at a special meeting today held at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today, proposed two names — that of PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and deputy president Mohamad Azmin Ali — as suitable candidates to take over the Selangor Menteri Besar position, replacing Abdul Khalid.

The decision by the party’s highest decision-making body had gone against the earlier decision made by Pas’ Syura Council which had rendered full support to Abdul Khalid to remain in his present position.
