PAS Terengganu ridiculed and bullied us, says PKR delegate
(The Rakyat Post) – PKR Terengganu has called on the party leadership to resolve its problem with their PAS counterparts in the state.
Claiming that the Islamic party has been “bullying” them, its delegate, Azlan Che Mat, called on the PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to hold discussions with PAS leaders to resolve the issue.
“In Terengganu, we have suffered and even cried under the leadership of PAS Terengganu because during the last general election we were ridiculed and ordered about,” he said during his presentation speech at the PKR National Congress here today.
Azlan said while he was unsure of his state chairman’s feelings about the issue, they were glad to have won the sole state seat for the party in Bandar, Kuala Terengganu.
“Alhamdulillah, even though we were always mocked and made fun off by Umno Terengganu, we feel sad that even PAS Terengganu did the same to us.”
He was quick to stress that his grouses were solely with PAS Terengganu and not the party’s central leadership.
“We need to be clear and not show fear with the PAS Terengganu leadership.”
Azlan also called on the PKR deputy president Mohamad Azmin Ali to correct the situation by forming a state secretariat in Terengganu.
In the 13th General Election, PKR contested in six state seats and one parliamentary constituency.
PAS, however, forced votes to be split by naming candidates in the Bukit Besi, Kota Putera and Seberang Takir state seats, which were also contested by PKR.
The remaining three seats contested by PKR were Permaisuri, Telemong and Bandar.
Bandar was won by PKR Terengganu chairman Azan Ismail.
