MB Khalid to meet Sultan of Selangor on Tuesday to discuss political turmoil in state

(NST) – The Sultan of Selangor has consented to grant Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim an audience on Tuesday at 2pm to discuss the political turmoil in the state and Khalid’s position as Menteri Besar.

The much awaited audience will decide on whether the state will have a new Menteri Besar in the future or if the state assembly will be dissolve to make way for snap polls to resolve the Menteri Besar conflict.

A source close to the Palace disclosed that Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who had cut short his trip to a European country had expressed his concern about the political turnaround in Selangor and had decided to address the situation as soon as possible for the sake of the Rakyat.

“Sultan Sharafuddin wants at least two or three names of the replacement candidate for Khalid to be submitted for his purview before Khalid can be replaced,” the source said.
