Now, Khalid Samad’s turn to be charged with sedition
(The Malaysian Insider) – Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad is to be charged with sedition tomorrow for remarks about the Selangor Sultan related to the Selangor Islamic Affairs Council (Mais).
The PAS lawmaker joins party colleague Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin who was charged earlier today with the same offence.
Another opposition lawmaker, PKR vice-president N. Surendran, was also charged under the Sedition Act last week.
Khalid had told reporters tonight that he would be charged at the Kuala Lumpur High Court in Jalan Duta tomorrow morning, saying the police informed him of the charge through a text message today.
