Party not eyeing MB post, says PAS central committee member
(MMO) – PAS yesterday shot down speculation that it was eyeing the Selangor mentri besar position.
Its central committee member Khalid Samad denied its Cempaka assemblyman Iskandar Samad is the front-runner for the post.
“PAS has agreed that the position is for PKR and it is highly unlikely for PAS to go for the post,” he said.
“We won’t ask for the position. If there is a second political tsunami, PAS would have a mentri besar in all the states (aside from Penang and Selangor). So what is there for us to eye the post in Selangor.”
The Malay Mail had yesterday, quoting sources, reported that Iskandar was in the front-line as a possible candidate after Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had announced his decision to relinquish his post.
