Hadi wants Selangor MB post for PAS
(The Star) – The Selangor Mentri Besar crisis has taken a new twist – PAS is believed to have submitted the names of its three executive councillors for the post.
The letter from PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang was sent before the Sept 3 deadline given to submit “more than two names” for the post following Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim’s sacking from PKR, according to state sources.
They said that Hadi personally signed the party’s letter to the palace, naming three of the party’s Exco members in the state administration as candidates.
The three are Iskandar Abdul Samad, Sallehin Mukhyi and Ahmad Yunus. The other PAS member in Khalid’s exco is Dr Halimah Ali.
When The Star contacted a senior aide of Hadi for his comment, the aide did not deny such a letter was submitted, saying that it was up to the party’s leadership to make a statement on the matter.

“These are confidential matters and as such, I cannot discuss them,” he said.
The letter will be seen as an affront to the consensus agreed by the other Pakatan Rakyat allies – PKR and DAP – which had agreed to submit only PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s name to the palace for consideration.
PAS has insisted that more that two names should be submitted in accordance with request of the palace.
