PAS facing internal crisis, says Penang CM

(The Star) – DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said on Sunday that PAS is in turmoil as the party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang deemed Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail ineligible for the Selangor Menteri Besar’s post.

Lim said  on Sunday that what was going on in PAS was an internal problem.

“Therefore it is not right for me to comment because I will be deemed to have interfered in PAS affairs,” he told reporters.

Abdul Hadi said that PAS’ decision to reject Dr Wan Azizah was not due to gender but rather her inability to be an able leader.

He made the comment during a dialogue in Kuala Terengganu, adding that candidate for the Menteri Besar’s post must fulfil the necessary criteria.

Lim said Dr Wan Azizah was an experienced person who had successfully taken over and led the party when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sent to prison in the 2000.

“Give her (Wan Azizah) a chance to show her capability,” he said.
