Cabinet agrees to replace Sedition Act

(FMT) – Malaysian laws must be improved upon and reviewed from time to time to accommodate ever changing lifestyles.

The cabinet has unanimously agreed to replace the Sedition Act with the Harmony Act.

MCA president Liow Tiong Lai said the cabinet has been discussing replacing the Sedition Act with a better law for some time.

“Malaysian laws needs to be improved and reviewed from time to time, to accommodate ever changing lifestyles.

“By doing so, Malaysia could remain peaceful and neutral and not be affected by threats from extremists and terrorists,” he said in the MCA website.
