(NST) – A FORMER PKR central committee member has labelled the party’s deputy president Azmin Ali as the “puppeteer who created chaos in the party” for his personal gain.

Badrul Hisham Shaharin claimed Azmin pretended to look good in the eyes of the public, but had silently created chaos within the party for his own interest and that of his supporters.

He claimed that PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the party had been pampering Azmin when he was actually the “cancer in the party”.

“Azmin endorsed Wan Azizah as the menteri besar (MB) candidate and even rejected the idea of being nominated for the post. The public should know that Azmin was lobbying to become MB secretly and this is what caused confusion between PKR, its Pakatan allies and the Selangor state government,” yesterday.

Badrul Hisham, who is also known as “Chegubard”, claimed it had been Azmin’s dream to become MB, and it was his “cartel” that started questioning the governance of Selangor.

“He was disappointed because Anwar did not keep his word to make him the Selangor MB after the general election in 2013.

“This led Azmin to start attacking the party’s head, PKR and Pakatan through a well-planned strategy, even in social media.”

He claimed that Azmin’s “cartel” in the Angkatan Muda Keadilan purposely delayed efforts to resolve the Selangor MB crisis, thus incurring the wrath of the sultan of Selangor.

Badrul challenged Azmin to publicly deny his intention to secure the MB post.

“Azmin has been secretly meeting with top Pas and DAP leaders to convince them to nominate him as MB. He himself went to the (Selangor) palace after the 13th General Election to submit his name as a candidate for MB, without the knowledge of PKR’s central committee,” he claimed.

He claimed that many young party members and supporters were fed up with Azmin as he had breached many party regulations with impunity.

Azmin could not be reached for comment.
