Blame Anwar for Hadi’s actions in MB crisis, PAS Youth told
(Malay Mail Online) – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be blamed for forcing PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang to take a different position from his allies in PKR and DAP in the ongoing Selangor mentri besar crisis, PAS Youth members were told today.
Kelantan PAS delegate Nur Azariza Mohd Alwi said Anwar was to blame for forcing Hadi’s hand, pointing out that the PKR de facto leader had in the past unilaterally decided on many Pakatan Rakyat (PR) policy matters without consulting PAS.
“Hadi knows Anwar for years, so who are we to question him?
“Anwar upset Hadi when Anwar announced things which did not undergo a PR consensus,” he said when debating PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat’s speech here.
Anwar’s unilateral “announcements”, said Nur Azariza, includes the “Kajang move” to remove Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim as Selangor mentri besar and the Opposition leader’s previous announcement that PR’s deputy prime minister’s post would be given to a non-Malay should the coalition win Putrajaya.
“Hadi’s reaction is the result of what our friends have done,” the PAS man added.
Another delegate from Terengganu, Ramlan Mahmud questioned why PAS Youth chief Suhaizan did not state his unconditional support for Hadi during his opening speech.
“I am still waiting for his (Suhaizan’s) official statement to openly support the PAS president!” Ramlan said.
He also attacked newly-minted PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad for revealing contents of PR youth’s private meeting with Hadi.
“Our PR partners are not gentlemanly. PKR Youth chief is not gentlemanly. What he has said has stung the feelings (of PAS youth),” Ramlan said.
Hadi broke ranks with PKR and DAP when he personally submitted three undisclosed names for the Selangor MB post to the palace two weeks’ ago.
PAS had initially agreed on two names — PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and PKR deputy President Azmin Ali — but their list has since been overtaken by Hadi’s choices for the post.
PKR and DAP’s position remains the same — to stick with a single MB nominee until and unless there are further developments with the palace.
