Iskandar tipped to be Deputy Selangor MB

(The Star) – Selangor executive councillor Iskandar Abdul Samad (pic) is in line to be the deputy mentri besar, with PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as mentri besar.

Iskandar is also Selangor PAS commissioner and Chempaka assemblyman.

Sources confirm Azmin and Iskandar were present at a rehearsal ceremony at the Selangor palace between 10am and 11am, Monday.

The two men were among three candidates “interviewed” by Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah last week to assess their suitability for the top post.

The other candidate was PAS Sijangkang assemblyman Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi.

Azmin is Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman and Gombak MP.

The appointments will hopefully bring an end to the prolonged power struggle over the mentri besar post in Selangor.
