Khalid Ibrahim welcomes any probe into deals he made as MB
(The Star) – Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim welcomed any investigations, including from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), into agreements he signed when he was Selangor Mentri Besar.
He said this included the restructuring of the state’s water industry and the development of Canal City.
“My lawyer will come out with a statement on the matter,” said Khalid in a Facebook post. Khalid was replaced by PKR deputy president Azmin Ali as Selangor Mentri Besar last week.
PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had reportedly said that Azmin would reveal companies that benefitted from the water deal which were approved by the previous administration.
“When it comes to the issue of public interest, my concern is that it has direct relationship to the water rates and the people will suffer from it,” he said at a ceramah in Penang on Saturday.
