Nik Abduh: DAP and PKR are bullies

Nik Abduh

(The Star) – The son of PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat accused PKR and DAP of “turning into Umno” by becoming “bullies,” in what appeared to be another sign of underlying tension within the Opposition pact.

Nik Abduh (pix), in a statement posted on his Facebook page early Sunday, claimed that some DAP leaders have said that PAS would be punished for going against their allies in the Selangor mentri besar crisis.

“They said PAS would be dead and buried in Selangor and eventually in Malaysia.

“In Sarawak, they even announced they no longer wanted to be friends with PAS. Now, they’re turning into Umno, getting arrogant when they’re in power,” Nik Abduh, who is Pasir Mas MP, said.

The PAS central committee member said DAP started raring its ugly head when they got the taste of power for only one term, but PAS have been the ‘victims’ of Umno bullies when they were in power in Kelantan and Terengganu for many years.

“They keep bringing up our failures but they seem to forget that PAS also has its own success stories,” he said, adding that PKR too, is no different than DAP.

“PKR also wants to bully us. They’re stealing while bullying.

“It is a good thing that PKR has its own internal problems so they’re not as strong as DAP.

“Some of them don’t even see eye to eye. So their bullying isn’t really working,” said Nik Abduh.

Cracks are beginning to emerge within Pakatan Rakyat since the Selangor mentri besar crisis where PAS, under the leadership of Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and the ulama faction chose to resolve the crisis on its own.

It further escalated when four former Selangor PAS state executive councillors were labelled “traitors” for their refusal to resign from Khalid’s administration to show solidarity with the six sacked exco members from PKR and DAP.

The newly-minted Mentri Besar Azmin Ali had reduced the number of state exco members from PAS from four to three, in what many see as a form of punishment to the party.

The rift between PAS and his allies are also beginning to show when DAP-led Penang government decided to remove one of its PAS councillors from Penang Municipal Council over his criticism of the state government’s “pro-developer policies” in the recent PAS muktamar in Johor.

He said despite being the victims, PAS still managed to survive and succeed.

“PAS has won in many elections and governed a few states. PAS keeps spreading its wings wherever it goes,” he said.

He then advised DAP not to become bullies as it would only earn the wrath from the people, amid its “attempts” of killing the party.

“DAP needs to know that PAS will not die.

“It has a long lifespan. If Umno is not dead yet, how could PAS die?

“If PAS dies, who will fight for Islam? Umno? PKR? DAP?” he said, stressing that Islam is the heartbeat of PAS, which keeps them going.

“PAS will only die or be sidelined when there is a better advocate for Islam. So far, none have emerged.

“I don’t even think Pasma have the ability to replace PAS.

“They can daydream all they want, but don’t bully others,” he said, referring to an NGO set up by several PAS leaders in support of Pakatan.
