“Before we repeal the Sedition Act, we should first eliminate the ‘animalistic’ MP’, was what led Bung and his Twitter followers to claim that she had posed a death threat.

(The Star) – Kinabatangan Umno Youth has lodged a police report against PKR legal adviser Latheefa Koya (pic) for allegedly making a death threat against their MP, Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin.

The report, which was lodged by their chief Aksyah Nasrah, pointed out that Latheefa had referred to Bung as “Kebinatangan” (animalistic) instead of Kinabatangan, his constituency.

A tweet by Latheefa saying, “Before we repeal the Sedition Act, we should first eliminate the ‘animalistic’ MP’, was what led Bung and his Twitter followers to claim that she had posed a death threat.

“It is obvious that she had directed the words to our MP as there was no denial or apology on her social media pages.

“We consider this act by her as a threat and an insult to all of the people in this constituency,” said Aksyah in the report lodged on Tuesday.

Aksyah then called for the police to immediately look into the situation and arrest Latheefa for investigation.

“We also hope that they arrest her in order to ensure the safety of our MP and to avoid any unwanted incidents from this provocative banter,” he said in the report.

On Tuesday, both Bung and Latheefa got into a twitter banter following Bung’s statement in parliament, calling for all those protesting against the Sedition Act to be charged under it.
