IGP shoots PDRM in the foot over anti-gambling raid
With such media saturation, who would need warning from ‘moles’ within the force? Didn’t the announcement itself tip off the gambling dens?

The results are in, and once again PDRM has managed to make itself look like a bunch of bumbling fools. The recent anti-gambling raid, dubbed Ops Dadu, had a success rate of only TWO per cent.
Yes, that’s right, two out of a hundred. You get better odds of winning at those illegal gambling dens, actually.
So who’s to blame for this debacle? According to the police – themselves!
It must have been tough for Datuk Zubaidah Md Ismail, director of the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department to admit that Ops Dadu was scuttled by corrupt elements within the force.
But then again, she’s merely stating a fact, as the criminal underworld has long reaped the benefits of developing informants in our nation’s police. While corrupt cops are nothing new, such a dismal showing (168 successful raids from a total of 9,663) reflects just how bad our police force has become.
What’s more, the raid seemed more like a public relations gimmick than a well-planned operation aimed at ridding our nation of illegal gambling dens. Earlier last month, IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar publicly announced the operation and promised stern action against his men should they fail.
Well, IGP, it looks like they just did.
But then, how could they not? Only a fool with his head in the sand would have failed to take notice of the IGP’s announcement, which was carried by nearly every media outlet in the country.
