(Malay Mail Online) – Right after sharing his labours in convincing Selangor’s Islamic religious authorities to return some 300 bibles containing the word “Allah”, Azmin Ali cautioned a Catholic congregation here today not to push the issue further now that it has been “resolved”.

The three-month old Selangor mentri besar was weighing in on a news report that the 352 bibles in the Malay and Iban languages confiscated from the Bible Society of Malaysia’s Petaling Jaya office had been handed over to a Sarawakian church group stamped with a warning that they were not to be used in Selangor.

“The issue has been resolved. Do not cause  provocation,” he told reporters as he was leaving the Holy Family Church here.

An Islamic religious advisory panel to the Selangor sultan had said on November 14 that the seized bibles were released on the strict condition that they were not to be distributed in the state, especially to Muslims.

Selangor Islamic Religious Council chairman Datuk Mohd Adzib Mohd Isa had added that the bibles were only to be used by Christians in Sarawak.

However, there were no mention of any warning stamp on the bibles.
