PAS declares hudud the ‘life’ of the party

Hudud in line with Pakatan Rakyat “agreeing to disagree” in forging political co-operation.

If the DAP, for example, is not comfortable with the political struggle of PAS, it has to find it’s own way and not continue to launch attack after attack on the latter based on the hudud law issue.

Hudud, points out Deputy Mursyidul Am Pas Haron Din, is the very life of the party and cannot be abandoned. “We will be not be put off by negative comments.”

“If DAP continues to attack PAS on the hudud issue, it’s responsible for damaging Pakatan Rakyat (PR) since the alliance accepted the tahaluf siyasi (political co-operation) paper in 2008,” said Haron, implying that there was an agreement to agree to disagree.

“PAS will not be bogged down by comments by friends and foes alike. Hudud is the life of PAS, the core of the party’s struggle, on which there will be no compromise. We will go ahead with hudud in Kelantan.”

He pointed out that PAS had never questioned the political struggle of DAP i.e. its commitment to democratic socialism and a Malaysian Malaysia and reiterated, “we have agreed to disagree in PR.”

“He (Guan Eng) did not raise the hudud issue before PR was formed. Why raise it now? What’s his motive?”
