Sarawak bowed to PKR pressure, says Ridhuan Tee after denied entry
(TMI) – Fresh from being barred by the Sarawak Immigration Department, controversial lecturer Dr Ridhuan Tee Abdullah accused the state government of bowing to pressure from PKR.
Ridhuan, who had been scheduled to address a religious event at a mosque in Lundu yesterday, said organisers had already informed him a day earlier that the talk had to be cancelled.
“At 8.45pm on Thursday, the organisers called and told me that the talk had to be cancelled because PKR would hold a protest.
“My question now is why does the state government suddenly bowed down to the pressure from PKR?” he asked in a blog posting, denying earlier reports that he had already arrived at the Kuching airport.
He said due to pressure from PKR’s Batu Lintang state assemblyman See Chee How, he contacted the organiser on Thursday suggesting the event be cancelled, but organisers initially said it had received green light from the Sarawak chief minister.
