Zahid Hamidi: Explanation letter, not endorsement for Paul Phua

(NST) – The letter written to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) by the Home Ministry for Malaysian Paul Wei Seng Phua was no an endorsement or support letter.

Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi clarified today at a press conference that the letter he wrote on Dec 18, was to explain on Phua’s status.

He said that in the letter, he had explained to the FBI that the illegal organisation 14K Triad does not exist in Malaysia and that Paul Phua was not a member of the triad group in the country.

Ahmad Zahid said an explanation to clarify the issue had been given in the Cabinet yesterday and they have accepted the clarification made.
