Ariff Sabri: Is there a deal between Najib and Anwar?

MP for Raub is puzzled why Anwar Ibrahim is working with MACC to attack Daim when he should be letting Umno people kill each other off.

(Free Malaysia Today) – The DAP MP for Raub, Ariff Sabri, is puzzled why Pakatan Rakyat’s de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has agreed to expose the wrongdoings of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin, when doing so will only serve to keep the prime minister in power for longer.

“Why attack Daim when the focus of our efforts ought to be centred on kicking Najib out of Putrajaya?” Ariff asked in his blog entry today.

He added that instead of dishing out the dirt on Daim, Anwar should be standing back and letting the “Umno people to kill off each other.”

Ariff was referring to the heavy criticism of Najib by Daim, a strong ally of former premier Mahathir Mohamad, another stinging critic of Najib’s.

He also made special mention of former information minister Zainuddin Maidin and veteran journalist Kadir Jasin, both of whom have criticised Najib relentlessly.

Descrbing Najib as “an overrated blue blood who has not much grey material between his ears”, Ariff said the PM was more of a “menace” to the country than a leader and that Anwar’s objective should be saving Malaysia from the “insouciant Najib” instead of destroying those who were trying to destroy him.

In detailing the ineffectiveness of Najib’s leadership, Ariff pointed to the country’s debt which he said was way more than the government was willing to reveal.
