Starving dogs turn on each other for food
On the brink of death, some of the dogs started eating others for sustenance after tenant abandons property with them in it.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Francis Goh, a property agent in Johor Baru had the shock of a lifetime when he discovered 24 malnourished dogs abandoned in one of his properties in Taman Pelangi, Johor Baru.
The Star reported that Goh was even more horrified to discover that some of the dogs resorted to eating two others after being left to starve over a prolonged period.
“I can never get that image out of my head. The dogs were too hungry.
“Some of the dogs were lying in the backyard while the rest were too feeble to move,” said Goh, who rushed out to buy three bags of dog food for the pooches.
The dogs, Goh said were lying in their own filth in the midst of all the waste and rubbish in the house, prompting Goh to call Homeless and Orphan Pets Exist (HOPE), a local non-profit organisation.
HOPE volunteers answered his distress call and rushed to the house with 10 other animal lovers, and started painstakingly packing the dogs off to their shelter in Pekan Nenas.
