Hadi the right man to replace Anwar, says PAS
He would be able to solve Pakatan’s problems, according to an ulama in the party.
(Free Malaysia Today) – PAS has begun promoting its president, Abdul Hadi Awang, as a candidate for the post of Parliamentary Opposition Leader, which has been left vacant with the imprisonment of Anwar Ibrahim.
Abu Bakar Abdullah, a member of the powerful Ulama Wing of the party, was quoted by Sinar Harian today as saying that Hadi, with his administrative experience and his standing as a prominent Islamic scholar, would be the right choice for the position.
With those credentials, Hadi would be in a position to solve problems faced by Pakatan Rakyat, he added.
“Personally,” he said, “I think he should be the choice. I am confident an ulama (scholar) can find solutions to problems. Morever, Hadi has the leadership ability and talent which is recognised worldwide.”
