PAS, unlike other parties, does not just focus on winning elections

Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah

(The Rakyat Post) – It is not PAS’ mission to chase for victory in the upcoming by-election but it is instead to find the blessings of God.

Kelantan deputy Menteri Besar, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the party was not like PKR, DAP and Umno because PAS was a Islamic movement to guide people towards God.

“Other political parties’ priorities are to win elections, win seats and form the government while PAS wins elections but has bigger priorities like finding God’s blessing,” he said at the party’s second Multaqa Ulama Semalaysia held in Serdang here today.

He said it was wrong to think that PAS would win just because they were in Pakatan Rakyat.

“We have to instill in ourselves that we win not because of individuals but because of God’s blessing,” he said.

He also said the party must be free of negative elements like that of pressure group Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia (PasMa).

“PasMa members are troubled individuals because they had ignored the advice of the Syura Council and that of PAS Ulamas. We then must win in a clean way so that we can fulfil the calling of God, otherwise the win will be meaningless.

“This is why PAS should be rid of destructive elements, just like when we wash rice to get rid of dirt to make sure the rice is clean for cooking,” he said.
