Sultan of Kelantan supports implementation of hudud

(The Rakyat Post) – The Sultan of Kelantan has voiced his support towards the implementation of hudud in the state.

According to Sinar Harian, Sultan Muhammad V said this in his royal speech at the opening session of the Kelantan state assembly today.

“I was made to understand that Kelantan plans to bring the private members’ bill to Parliament in order to amend Act 355 under Section 76A1 of the Constitution to allow Kelantan to implement the Syariah criminal code here.

“May you achieve success with the support from all quarters, Insya-Allah,” Sultan Muhammad V was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian today.

The Kelantan government, headed by PAS, plans to table the revised hudud enactment to the Kelantan state assembly on March 18.
