A livid Gobind demands PAS be booted from PR
DAP’S Gobind Singh Deo says PAS has proven it cannot be trusted now that it has gone ahead to table and pass its hudud bill in Kelantan
(Free Malaysia Today) – In a strongly worded statement that conveyed his anger at the tabling and passing of a hudud bill in Kelantan by PAS, Gobind Singh Deo said the time had come to boot PAS from the opposition coalition, Pakatan Rakyat.
Condemning PAS for showing “total and utter disregard” to the common policy framework of PR, Gobind, who is MP for Puchong, added, “PAS has openly demonstrated that they cannot be trusted.
“I am of the view that Pakatan Rakyat cannot as a matter of principle maintain ties with PAS as PAS has shown scant if not, little or no regard for its common policy framework.
He said PR needed to act quickly in taking action against PAS, in order to restore the confidence of the people who voted for PAS on the understanding that PR had a common policy framework that would be honoured.
“They (PAS) have betrayed not only the DAP but more importantly all those who voted for PAS believing in the common policy framework of Pakatan Rakyat.”
