Support hudud if you want to use ‘Allah’, says Umno man
Kelantan Umno said it was unfair for non-Muslims to reject laws that didn’t fit their expectations
(Free Malaysia Today) – Kok Lanas assemblyman and state Umno information chief, Md Alwi Che Ahmad, today questioned the reluctance of non-Muslims to accept the implementation of the hudud law in Kelantan.
“Non-Muslims want to use ‘kalimah Allah’ until the issue is brought to court. Today, Kelantan wants to implement Allah’s laws, why do they reject this?” asked Md Alwi, according to The Malaysian Insider.
“Why do they want to use ‘Allah’ but not accept these laws? Answer this question first,” he told reporters after the 13th Kelantan State Legislative Assembly today.
He had earlier announced at the sitting that his support for the implementation of hudud was because of Allah, and not because of politics.
The voting process to approve a bill to amend the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Enactment II (1993) which was tabled today, will be held tomorrow.
