Evangelists using Chinese to destabilise Malaysia, says ISMA article
It says the evangelical movement infiltrates political parties and economic sectors controlled by non-Muslims
(Free Malaysia Today) – An article featured at ISMA’s website today alleges that the global Christian evangelical movement is using local Chinese to destabilise Malaysia politically.
The article, written by political analyst Asyraf Farique, says part of the movement’s work is done through an organisation called the Nanyang Chinese Network, said to have been initiated by the Haggai Institute, which was founded by American evangelist John Edmund Haggai.
Ashraf says the movement, in trying to spread Christian-Zionist ideologies, targets mainly the Chinese with a message contextualised for the community – that the Chinese have been chosen by Heaven to inherit Southeast Asia and that they have to destroy the religious opposition that stands in the way of that destiny.
He says the other targets for its influence are Sabah and Sawarak bumiputeras as well as non-Muslim youths.
