Tuan Ibrahim to take on Mat Sabu for PAS deputy president post

Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man

(The Malaysian Insider) – PAS vice-president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man is set to challenge incumbent Mohamad Sabu for the deputy president post in the upcoming 61st Muktamar in June.

Tuan Ibrahim secured his second nomination today after Kluang PAS division nominated him as their choice for the No 2 party post.

He received the first nomination last week from the Kuala Kedah division.

In PAS, a candidate needs at least two nominations from a division to qualify for a contest.

The Kluang division also nominated to retain Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang as the party president.

This is Hadi’s third nomination, after being nominated by Shah Alam and Kuala Kedah recently.

Division chief Khairul Faizi Ahmad Kamil confirmed the nominations done at the Balai Islam Omar Jani in Taman Ilham Kluang.

PAS will hold its party elections during its muktamar, or general assembly, this June in Kuala Selangor, against a backdrop of infighting and disputes over whether it should remain with the Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition.
