(Malay Mail Online) – Sirul Azhar Umar likely did not divulge information on who ordered him to kill Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu as he was intimidated by senior police officials who questioned him, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad asserted today.

The former prime minister said the ex-police commando would have been “frightened” when confronted by superior officers — particularly Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar — as he was trained to obey orders.

“If you ask a police man to ask Sirul, he’d be frightened,

“So he’s used to obeying orders around senior people but now you have the IGP coming and asking him, very difficult to answer,” he said.
