War-against-Pakistani-presence-in-Sabah-hots-up-1024x576

Word has it that the “Mob” in UMNO Sabah would rather have their kind come in compared to the Filipinos. The influx of illegal Filipinos will only give Shafie the advantage as he is of Suluk heritage.

Gerrard Montikiu, Pemuda Parti Kebangsaan Sabah

A friend of mine shared with me about his Filipino maid who always complains about her family members who have pestered her time and time again to sign a form/document and place her thumb print on. This, they said would grant her citizenship and become a Malaysian.

The maid has maintained that the reason she is in Sabah is to work and send money back to Basilan every month to support her husband and school-going children. Her husband is employed but does not earn much to care for their needs, which was the reason why she signed up via a legal employment agency in Basilan and found her way to Sabah. She has the intention of going back to Basilan one day.

Now, this scenario is not a secret in Sabah; the people know that the problem of illegal Malaysians in the state will never be solved unless immigration comes under full control of the state. But then again, with the current leaders helming the state government, it is anyone’s guess whether protection and total scrutiny of immigration will be applied even with full authority given.

A new episode of foreigners given citizenship is heating up in Sabah currently. First it was the Filipinos, now the Pakistanis. Former Libaran MP Datuk Akbar Khan rose to defend the influx of Pakistanis as he claims that he himself is of Pakistani heritage and this must not become an issue otherwise it will hurt the feelings of other Sabahans with Pakistani heritage. Did Akbar Khan rise to counter attack the expose by the Chief Justice of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Richard Malanjum because of what he (Akbar) justified to the media, or did he do it to protect something bigger?

A majority of Sabah UMNO leaders will want to avoid the “Pakistani influx via dubious channels” scandal as most of them are of Pakistani heritage. Almost all of the UMNO Divisions in Sabah has a Chairman, Division head, or Youth Leader of Pakistani heritage and these leaders belong to the same family tree, including Akbar Khan himself. To name a few, Chairman of Penampang UMNO is Datuk Hasnol Ayub – son of Datuk Ayob Aman, the UMNO Youth Leader for Batu Sapi Khairul Firdaus Bin Akbar Khan – son of Datuk Akbar Khan, UMNO Youth Leader for Sipitang Yamani Hafez Bin Musa – son of Datuk Seri Musa Aman. I will stop here for now. This is a dynastic practice by UMNO in Sabah.

The Ketua Bahagians who are not related to the Amans, or rather the Khans are powerless to make their own decisions because of fear. Fear that they will be reported to the Sabah UMNO Chairman, deemed unfit in leading the Bahagian to serve the Khans’ agenda. Even elected ADUNs and MPs have no say in Sabah UMNO. They serve only as puppets of the Chief Minister not because they want to, but because they have no choice.

Sabah UMNO is divided into 2 factions – Datuk Seri Musa Aman’s faction and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s. The weaker faction has seen one of its MPs (Jumat Idris of Sepanggar) face the disciplinary council and has since had his UMNO membership suspended for 6 years. At one stage, Shafie was very vocal and already had a number of UMNO ADUNs and MPs on his side to mount a challenge on Musa for the CM’s post. This all stopped when photos and tales of Shafie romantically linked to Zahida Rafik surfaced. Shafie had no choice but to back off. Just a few months later, he then mounted a second attack internally within UMNO Sabah. This time openly lobbying for his nephew, Datuk Nasir Tun Sakaran to replace Musa as CM, with the firm backing of Datuk Seri Najib. Eventually this effort made no impact as nobody in Shafie’s faction at the time could simply imagine Nasir as the CM mainly because he has no credibility as a politician, what more a CM.

Now, back to the main point, the influx of Pakistanis in Sabah has accelerated and currently there is no estimated figure yet on the number of Pakistanis who have entered illegally. Word has it that the “Mob” in UMNO Sabah would rather have their kind come in compared to the Filipinos. The influx of illegal Filipinos will only give Shafie the advantage as he is of Suluk heritage, together with his cousin, Tun Sakaran Dandai who wields much support in the Tawau Division. Instead of increasing the number of Suluks, it is wiser to increase instead the number of Pakistanis so the “Mob” can stay in power.

These activities are covertly carried out by immigration agents with full knowledge of the Sabah UMNO leaders and the Federal Government. If not, then why is Akbar Khan acting so emotional about it? Please ponder.

Pemuda PKS – N20

It is no secret in Sabah, yet the people, namely the Kadazans still prefer to play along to the tune of UMNO’s divide and rule strategy. To be fair to the Kadazans, almost all of the ethnic races in Sabah are divided.
