Wan Azizah keeps mum on PAS support in Permatang Pauh

(Bernama) – PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is still keeping mum on PAS’s uncertain support for PKR in facing the upcoming Permatang Pauh by-election.

When asked who among PAS top leaders would attend the announcement ceremony of PKR candidate for the by-election scheduled for April 24, she said: “Just wait and see… we don’t know yet.”

Dr Wan Azizah, who is also Kajang assemblyman, said this when met at the launch of “Tampil” programme at the An-Nahdhoh Complex in Bukit Mertajam today.

As to who would make the announcement of PKR candidate for the by-election, she said members of the media would have to wait till that day to find out.

The by-election was called following the decision of the Pardons Board to reject a petition for a royal pardon by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim via his family members, causing Anwar to be disqualified as Member of Parliament.

Anwar is now serving a five-year jail sentence for sodomising his personal assistant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

The Election Commission set the nomination of candidate for Permatang Pauh on April 25 and polling day on May 7.
