‘You are not alone in telling the truth’, Muhyiddin tells Dr M

(Malay Mail Online) – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will never be alone in his efforts to speak the truth and to combat injustice at any level, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.

The deputy prime minister said that Dr Mahathir’s trademark has always been speaking his mind and stating his views even if it is against Western “superpowers” and those more powerful than him.

“Telling the truth and standing up… that has been your trademark since you were a young doctor and Umno member.

“You are not alone in telling the truth,” Muhyiddin said in his speech here at an anti-war forum here titled “Engaging the young to criminalise war and energise peace”.

Dr Mahathir, the country’s longest-serving prime minister, was also present and was seated next to Muhyiddin.

When asked to comment on Muhyiddin’s remarks later, Dr Mahathir told reporters that it was strictly within the context of his role in speaking up against war crimes.

“It’s about this war, I’m talking about the war, and I think he’s supporting me for the war,” Dr Mahathir stressed.
