Pakatan machinery moves on without Penang PAS Youth
(TMI) – Having recently resolved issues with the Permatang Pauh PAS division, Pakatan Rakyat says it is moving forward with the campaign to retain the hottest parliamentary seat in the country without the help of the state PAS Youth.
The wing yesterday declared that it would not be part of the campaign after the state PKR Youth failed to apologise for criticising PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang over talk of PAS working with Umno.
With the wing refusing to budge from its stand, PR leaders said they would move on and work towards ensuring that PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail wins the seat.
PAS central committee member and Penang deputy commissioner Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa said that the central party’s decision to campaign and help the PKR candidate should prevail.
“Their (Penang PAS Youth’s) dispute with PKR Youth should be resolved but not by taking the Permatang Pauh by-election as ransom because it is against the party’s stand,” he told The Malaysian Insider last night.

“We have enough machinery,” Mujahid said, adding however that the main operation centre would remain open to PAS youths who would like to help in the campaign.
“They can contact us if they wish to participate,” he said.
