No need for apology, says Wan Azizah
(The Rakyat Post) – PKR has welcomed the decision by Penang PAS Youth to retract its boycott of PKR’s by-election campaign in Permatang Pauh and pledge its support.
Although Penang PAS Youth is still asking for an apology, PKR by-election candidate Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail however said that the issue doesn’t arise.
“The issue is settled. What apology? The issue of an apology doesn’t arise,” she told reporters at a press conference here.
Meanwhile, thanking Penang PAS for their support, PKR election director Datuk Saifuddin Nasution said efforts from PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Mohamad Sabu and Penang PAS deputy commissioner Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa managed to put an end to the boycott.
“Now we will await for the election machinery from them to help in bringing forward the issues that are affecting the Rakyat,” he said.
PAS election director Mohd Hatta Ramli said “this episode was over” and that the machinery was well underway in helping out with PKR’s campaigning.
When asked if there was still a need to take disciplinary action against Penang PAS Youth, Mohd Hatta said there was no need.
“They’ve already decided to whole-heartedly support us so there’s no question of any disciplinary action.
After spending the last four days boycotting PKR’s by-election campaigning, Penang PAS Youth announced this morning their intention to help out PKR.
However despite the renewed cooperation, Penang PAS Youth chief Yusni Mat Piah still called on Penang PKR Youth to apologise for allegedly insulting Abdul Hadi.
“The unanimous decision to help Pakatan Rakyat for the upcoming by-election was made after a meeting was conducted by the Penang PAS Youth that was also attended by PAS Youth deputy chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi and PAS Youth vice chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin,” he told reporters at the Penang PAS headquarters, today.
