PKR should apologise to PAS, says Kelantan MB

Ahmad Yakob

(The Rakyat Post) – PKR should apologise to its coalition partner PAS and its president, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, over the claims made on the hudud issue.

“There is already an agreement between the state and federal governments to establish a technical committee to study how the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) can be brought to Parliament,” Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said.

“PAS does not have any ties or agreement whatsoever with Umno.

“It is more with both the state and federal governments agreeing on a joint technical committee,” he told the media after the state executive committee meeting at Kota Darul Naim today.

Ahmad, who is also PAS deputy spiritual leader, said PKR’s apology would be fair as the claims that PAS and Hadi were working together with Umno for the implementation of hudud were unsubstantiated.

PAS Youth national committee member Ahmad Fadhil Saari said the apology by PKR could be done at any time, either before or after the Permatang Pauh by-election.

“We congratulate the Penang PAS Youth in withdrawing its campaign boycott as what is important is to ensure a victory for Pakatan Rakyat in Permatang Pauh,” said Ahmad Fadhil, who is also the Kelantan PAS Youth chief.
