My focus is not entertaining baseless remarks, says Najib
(The Malaysian Insider) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has once again defended his leadership style, saying that he is focused on developing the country and not entertain baseless allegations.
In his latest blog post as part of his May Day message, he said that in the current social media era, it was easy for issues to be spread without any limits.
“Entertaining these issues all the time will only distract my focus from my efforts to move the country forward.
“In order to increase productivity, we need to focus on the job,” he said.
Najib also highlighted Putrajaya’s achievements, saying that in the last five years the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project was almost 60% ready, keys were being delivered for homes built under the PR1MA housing scheme and the Second Penang Bridge had been completed.
He added that the opening up of the economy had also resulted in the creation of 1.5 million jobs.
He added that human capital development programmes such as Tekun and others had been successful in creating a quality talent pool, adding that such transformation programmes were crucial to improving people’s quality of life.
“I will continue to give explanations on issues that arise from time to time.
“But not to the point of losing focus on the responsibility that has been entrusted to me because of the issues that are endlessly being raised,” he said in his brief message.
