PAS Youth worries about Permatang Pauh
(The Rakyat Post) – PAS Youth today expressed worry that the impossible might take place in Permatang Pauh.
Its chief, Suhaizan Kayat, said that anything that happens in Permatang Pauh might also affect the whole country.
He expressed hope that the rakyat would continue to support Pakatan Rakyat in Permatang Pauh and help it retain its victory there to avoid any unwanted “incident” from happening.
“This will give a signal to the whole country and we don’t want that to happen.
“I am worried that the rakyat here might take drastic action and do the opposite of what we hope for and this could send out the wrong signal to the poor rakyat in the whole country.”
He was speaking at a press conference held together with the Pemuda Pakatan Rakyat in Kampung Pelet here today before a walkabout programme in the area.
Suhaizan was saying this in relation to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and said that the rakyat might unknowingly approve of the GST if they approve of Barisan Nasional (BN).
On the protest held by Bagan PAS after Friday prayers yesterday, boycotting Permatang Pauh by-election PKR candidate Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and to uphold the teachings of the ulama, Suhaizan said he was unsure whether the protest was held in their own capacity or endorsed by Penang PAS.
“Secondly, PAS had on April 13 decided that it would assist PKR in Permatang Pauh.
“So any decision that contradicts that of PAS Central is considered automatically null and void.”
On the action to be taken against the protesters, Suhaizan said that it would depend on the report made.
“If it was up to PAS Central, the protest would not have taken place,” added Suhaizan.
