Bookies accepting bets on P. Pauh by-election
They are willing to pay RM3 for every ringgit wagered should Wan Azizah win by more than 8,000 votes and RM5 if the outcome is 10,000 or more.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Bookies have come out in full force to accept bets on the outcome of the Permatang Pauh by-election tomorrow.
They are willing to pay RM3 for every ringgit placed by punters should PKR candidate Wan Azizah Wan Ismail win by more than 8,000 votes.
Punters will receive RM5 for every ringgit wagered should Wan Azizah obtain a majority of more than 10,000 votes, the Oriental Daily reported.
In the last by-election for the constituency in August, 2008, punters bet on then PKR candidate Anwar Ibrahim to win by a majority of 10,000 to 15,000 votes.
Judging from the voting trend in the Teluk Intan, Kajang and Rompin by-elections, a lower turnout can be expected for Permatang Pauh as well.
Although the betting is on Wan Azizah to win big, analysts have said Pakatan Rakyat without Anwar is not what it used to be.
