Board of Directors, not PM must explain 1MDB situation
MCA veep Chew Mei Fun says it is time for a transparent explanation on the 1MDB issue, given how it is affecting the entire nation
(Free Malaysia Today) – Don’t leave explaining the “real” plight of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) to Prime Minister Najib Razak, said MCA vice-president Chew Mei Fun, who explained that the onus for explanations should be on the company itself.
In a report by The Star Online today, Chew said in a press conference that specific people had already been designated to look after the project and that they should “stand up and answer to the people”.
“Just like everyone else, we too want a clearer picture of the 1MDB issue and it is the duty of the (board of directors) to provide it,” said Chew.
“We do not feel that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak should be asked to answer.”
She said that it was time for a transparent explanation on the issue, given how it was affecting the entire nation.
