PAS: Kit Siang should not speak on hudud in Kelantan

(The Star) – DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang should not have spoken about hudud at a public forum here as it was a sensitive issue when it is common knowledge that he has rejected hudud laws, said PAS deputy commissioner I Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah (pic).

He said Kelantan PAS was not involved in the ceramah on Monday night where Lim had spoken about hudud and had caused an uproar among state PAS leaders.

“I received complaints about Lim’s presence here and most who complained questioned Lim’s authority to speak about hudud,” he told the Star after launching the Seminar on Land Management in Kelantan here on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the ceramah was organised by the Kota Baru PAS division.

Mohd Amar was asked to comment on the facebook entry by Nik Abduh Nik Aziz on his latest posting that no one in Kelantan would dare to invite Lim to Kelantan for a ceramah if his father Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat was alive.

Tak manis for him to speak on that subject,” Mohd Amar added.

On Monday night Lim, the Gelang Patah MP, told a crowd of people at Padang Perdana neither he personally nor the party was not anti Islam and rejected hudud as it was unsuitable for a multi racial country like Malaysia.

He added that his visit to Middle Eastern countries recently like Jordan or Egypt and revealed that hudud was secondary to the people’s welfare.
