Enough with half truths, Salleh warns Opposition
Salleh Said Keruak says Malaysia is far from going bankrupt although that is the message the Opposition keeps conveying to the people.
(Free Malaysia Today) – Conceding that an Opposition was needed in a democracy, Salleh Said Keruak emphasised however that it must be a “responsible” Opposition that did not sensationalise the news by telling only half truths to the people.
In his latest blog entry, the Sabah State Speaker said the Opposition kept drumming into the public’s head that the country was going bankrupt without backing up this serious claim with facts.
“The opposition keeps saying that Malaysia is going bankrupt. And yet Malaysia still attracts foreign investments.
“The problem is the opposition is just sensationalising the issue without supporting what they say with facts and statistics.”
Saying it was wrong for the Opposition to “mislead the public and spread untruths”, he added, “Malaysia’s opposition does not appear to be concerned about the truth but only about running down the government even if it has to tell half the story.”
