Dr M’s criticism more mischievous than responsible
Sabah State Speaker says Dr Mahathir is trying to insinuate that Najib Razak had a role in Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder
(Free Malaysia Today) – While criticising the country’s leader is the prerogative of Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the former prime minister should adopt a more responsible attitude rather than make mischievous attempts at insinuating that Prime Minister Najib Razak was involved in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, said Salleh Said Keruak.
Saying Najib made a “relevant” point when he questioned Mahathir’s previous eight-year silence over her murder, Salleh observed that this time around, Mahathir was intent on insinuating there were many questions still left unanswered, that if answered, would implicate Najib.
“This was the ‘picture’ that Dr Mahathir was trying to paint and is a very mischievous move aimed at creating doubts against the Prime Minister,” the Sabah State Speaker said.
Urging Mahathir to be more “responsible” in his comments and base it on “facts” rather than what the Opposition preferred saying, Salleh related how many so called facts circulating about Najib and the Mongolian had been proven to be lies.
“The photograph showing the Prime Minister in Paris with Altantuya has now been proven to be a fake. Even the person who fabricated that photograph has admitted that it was doctored and meant more as a joke.”
He also noted Suaram’s complaint with the French authorities about Altantuya’s murder which resulted in a full blown investigation that later proved all the speculations about Najib and the Mongolian were untrue.
