Hadi has ‘no business’ threatening DAP over hudud
Gobind Singh Deo says the nation can ill-afford to have leaders like PAS’s president who has encouraged the people to vent their anger at DAP.
(Free Malaysia Today) – PAS President Hadi Awang has “no business threatening” DAP and instructing all Muslims to vent their anger at the party for opposing the implementation of hudud in Kelantan, said DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo.
In a statement, the MP for Puchong said, “Hadi has no business threatening us (DAP) or anyone else in the manner he did for opposing it (hudud).”
He also said Hadi was engaging in a dangerous tactic that could put the nation’s unity at risk.
“If leaders call upon their people to be angry and to vent that anger at certain groups of society, then the unity of that nation will come under threat,” he said, adding it would build racial hatred, something DAP found totally unacceptable.
“This is a very serious matter and we must reject such leadership.”
Saying, “We can ill-afford to have leaders like Hadi who put all this at risk,” Gobind warned Hadi that his threat was not only limited to DAP but included all those who opposed the implementation of hudud in a multi-racial, multi-religious country like Malaysia.
“It refers to all Malaysians who do not support the implementation of hudud.
“That to me is a general attack against all of them, which attack I severely condemn.”
