Guan Eng: ‘Mad’ Hadi’s attack against DAP shadow Cabinet is racist
(Malay Mail Online) – DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng called PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang a racist today for claiming his party’s proposed shadow Cabinet to be proof of its intention to usurp federal power unilaterally.
The Penang chief minister also labelled Hadi “mad” and accused the Marang MP of taking advantage of the DAP’s shadow Cabinet proposal to suggest that the party is planning to take over Malaysia and establish Chinese rule.
“He is intentionally playing along racial sentiments. I notice that he is becoming more like an Umno member,” he told reporters here, referring to claims that Hadi was becoming more friendly with the ruling Malay party amid rumours that PAS was actively pursuing co-operation with Umno.
Lim pointed out that despite Hadi’s attempts to paint his party as racist, the DAP’s proposed shadow Cabinet comprised MPs of all ethnic backgrounds unlike PAS.
“I regret that he made such allegations because it doesn’t make sense at all.
“When we set up a shadow Cabinet of our own, it is so we can debate issues according to the portfolios… at least our lineup consist of all races. But PAS has only one race,” Lim, who is also Bagan MP, said.
