Ministers tight-lipped after late night meet

Despite promptings from the press, not one minister was willing to reveal the goings-on at a meeting they had last night.

(Free Malaysia Today) – All ministers who attended a three-hour late night meeting Tuesday gave no inkling whatsoever as to what was discussed inside despite questions from the press, a video on StarTV revealed today.

In the 1.39-minute news video, Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (pic), who has courted controversy in recent days with rumours of his imminent resignation (of which he denied today), was all smiles although refusing to divulge any information except to joke, “There are a lot of other ministers (to ask about the meeting).”

It was much the same for Minister of Natural Resources and Environment G Palanivel and Minister of Transport Liow Tiong Lai who merely shook his head when asked if he had anything to say about the meeting.

Despite the stream of ministers passing the media on their way to the escalators, not one said a word except for Finance Minister II Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah who explained, “It’s an internal discussion,” denying repeatedly that the issue of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) came up.

“We discussed many things here such as RMK11 (Eleventh Malaysia Plan) and such,” and when pressed if 1MDB was discussed at any point, he brushed aside the question, saying, “No, no, no we didn’t discuss that.”
