PAS polls: Don’t be ‘soft’ with infidels, says Penang delegate
(The Star) – PAS cannot be “soft” with infidels by practising gentleman politics, said Penang PAS Youth delegate Aiman Shamsul Bahrin.
Taking a swipe at incumbent youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat’s (pic) approach of inclusive and moderate politics, he said: “We cannot be lembik (soft) to the kafir by practising gentleman politics.”
In his debate at the PAS Youth assembly, he criticised the DAP, particularly its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for his constant swipes at PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Awang and the party’s hudud stance.
Aiman praised Abdul Hadi’s response to such attacks, claiming the party president was guided by God.
He was disappointed that action was taken against the Penang Youth wing after they called for a boycott of the Permatang Pauh by-election in retaliation to PKR Youth’s attack on Hadi.
“We are still waiting for PKR Youth to apologise to us,” he said.
On Apr 28, Penang PAS Youth announced it was withdrawing its support for PKR in the Permatang Pauh by-election.
Its Youth chief Yusni Mat Piah said the move came after PKR failed to apologise for opposing PAS’ hudud plan.
He said they were disappointed with the silence of Penang PKR Youth and certain PAS leaders over the issue.
However, on Apr 29, they caved in to pressure from the PAS leadership to end their boycott campaign.
During lunchbreak, Suhaizan, who is defending his post, told newsmen he had prepared two speeches – a victory speech and another one if he loses.
Suhaizan said he was aware of criticisms towards him.
