DAP snubs PAS at party congress
(MMO) – No representative from the DAP turned up today at PAS’ 61st annual congress which begins today, in a clear signal of the deepening rift between the two Pakatan Rakyat (PR) allies.
The federal opposition pact’s third partner, PKR, however, was represented by its party deputy president and Selangor Mentri Besar, Azmin Ali and Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin.
DAP’s absence follows an emergency motion approved yesterday by PAS’ powerful clergy wing, which took offence to the secular party’s criticisms against PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for his pursuit to roll out the Islamic criminal code in Kelantan.
