Is Hisham hoping that Muhyiddin will quit?
Blogger Shahbudin says the Defence Minister could be making a ‘negative spin’ himself.
(Free Malaysia Today) – It was unbecoming of Hishammuddin Hussein to drag Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin into the issue of whether Cabinet members should resign over the 1MDB affair, blogger Shahbudin Husin says in his latest posting.
He says it wasn’t necessary for the Defence Minister to mention Muhyiddin in trying to explain the controversial Twitter message that he put out following Prime Minister Najib Razak’s ultimatum to Cabinet members to quit if they can’t agree with the way he was handling the 1MDB issue.
Shahbudin is referring to Hishammuddin’s response yesterday to reporters who asked him to elaborate on the tweet he had sent out earlier.
“If there’s an issue of resigning, the Deputy Prime Minister would have resigned yesterday,” Hishammuddin said.
Earlier, in an attempt to stop rumours that he was quitting, he had said on Twitter: “No, I am not – negative spin by some irresponsible people.”
The rumours were sparked by an earlier tweet in which he seemed to be imposing conditions before giving his agreement to the so-called 1MDB Roadmap.
