(The Sun Daily) – After Mohamad Sabu’s sudden resignation, another Penang PAS leader has relinquished his position in the state government.

In a posting on Facebook, Parit Buntar MP Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusoff Rawa announced his resignation from two posts he holds in the Pakatan-led state administration.

Mujahid said he made the decision in his capacity as a PAS member and also to comply with the resolution made by the ulama Wing to cut ties with DAP.

“The PR government is a coalition government between PAS , DAP and PKR . The motion to sever ties with DAP meant that PAS has lost confidence in DAP.

“To comply with the muktamar decision, which is the highest decision made by the party, I relinquished all my positions in the state government,” he said in the post.

Mujahid will be resigning as a board member in the Penang Islamic Foundation and Penang Islamic and Technological College.

He expressed hopes the decision will prompt other PAS leaders in the state to also relinquish their state government posts to support the “honour” of the party.

On Saturday, former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu had announced that he will resign from all his positions in Penang.
