Lim Kok Wing denies involvement with Nothing2Hide forum fiasco
(Malay Mail Online) – Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has denied having any involvement with the “Nothing2Hide” forum that Datuk Seri Najib Razak was supposed to have attended earlier this month to address public queries.
The Prime Minister’s new public campaign coordinator took to microblogging site Twitter to deny having anything to do with the botched forum, saying that he only found out the event when he read about it in the news. (see below)
“Let me to say this again : Fact: I had nothing to do with ‘Nothing to hide’ forum.
“Fact: I knew nothing about it until I read about it,” Lim said moments ago using his Twitter handle @limkokwing.
“So much lying and insulting. So much slandering and poisoning. Some are there just to destroy. Read their postings. You’ll see through them,” he said in another tweet but did not elaborate on what he meant.

Lim, who previously ran election campaigns for Barisan Nasional, is tasked to win over the hearts of Malaysians and shore up the dwindling popularity of the prime minister.
As “special programme coordinator”, Lim has drawn up plans for Najib to gather support and listen to the complaints from the people.
In 1975, Lim started Malaysia’s first local advertising firm and in 1991, he went on to start Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology, before it became a private university in 2000.
Lim will report directly to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The “Nothing2Hide” forum had been expected to become a face-off between Najib and his chief critic Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but it was cancelled unexpectedly.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar ordered the event to be called off to preserve “public order”, and the Prime Minister’s Office later attributed Najib’s absence at the forum to the police’s advice and instruction over security concerns.
Critics have since condemned the police for disrupting and cancelling the event, saying that the authorities were aiming to silence public discussions on government scandals and literally save Najib from a humiliating confrontation with Dr Mahathir over 1MDB.
Organiser SukaGuam said the police ordered the event cancelled due to the group’s inability to handle the large number of attendees, while the IGP also denied that the cancellation was politically motivated.
